On 1st February 2012, Mr Townson, Mrs Griffin and I took part in the second partner meeting of our Comenius project, ‘Creativity in a Digital World’. Little did we know what the weather in Italy had in store for us, as we landed in a treacherous snowstorm. Tenacity and determination resulted in seven of the eight visiting countries making it to Faenza.
We were very grateful to the Italian teachers for their flexibility, changing plans at the very last minute. With the snow so bad, school for the children in Faenza was cancelled. Luckily, we were still able to visit the school, which was very quiet! It was wonderful to see examples of how pupils in Italy are involved in the project, exploring and studying other European countries.
We are looking forward to 7th March when St Aubyn’s welcomes 23 teachers, from the 8 countires involved and are hoping that the snow will be gone by then!
