It is my privilege to be Headmaster of St Aubyn’s, one of the oldest and most established preparatory schools in the country.  Our focus is on the education, welfare and personal development of each child.  Strong relationships are at the core of this: relationships among pupils and between pupils and staff, all backed up by a partnership with parents.  A Christian foundation, the school is inclusive of all faiths and backgrounds.  Children respect each other’s individuality and achievements.

Our catchment is a vibrant area for sport, music and the performing arts, all fully reflected in the day-to-day life of the school.  Our pupils have strong links with the local community and with the wider world, for instance in charitable fund-raising and in partnerships with schools throughout Europe.  We want our children to be confident and outward-looking.

As  a preparatory school,  part of our mission is to provide families with the right options for secondary education.  Most of our pupils move on to selective independent and state schools, a high proportion with awards and scholarships.  Just as important, our former pupils thrive in their new schools and continue to enjoy life and to achieve highly.  Many stay in touch with St Aubyn’s and it is always a pleasure to see them.

I hope you find the website informative.  Please contact me or anyone at the school if you would like to know more.
