The Music department is set in a purpose built Performing Arts Centre and comprises of one main music classroom, 3 practice rooms, an office and a Performance Hall.
There are two members of teaching staff that work on both a full time and part time basis, together with 14 freelance instrumental teachers who visit the department at various times throughout the week.
Our aim is to provide a Musical Education that is firstly, available to all pupils and not just the musically elite; secondly, challenging for all; thirdly, reflective of a multicultural society and finally encourages pupils’ enthusiasm and enjoyment of music.
Fourteen peripatetic instrumental staff delivering individual instrumental lessons, a plethora of extra-curricular music activities, our Music Awards Scheme, music based visits, concerts and partnerships with local senior schools all add to the wider musical education on offer at St. Aubyn’s.
