May 2008
Dear Former Pupil,
For many years numerous former pupils have expressed an interest in a St Aubyn`s School Former Pupil Association. As the school approaches its 125 year it is an excellent time to contact former-pupils to see if there is still such an interest.
If you feel that you would like to be involved with this project, could you please reply to this e-mail school@staubyns.com, or write to the School’s address on the home page for my attention. Additionally if you are still in contact with any of your peers or indeed any other former pupil, could you please pass a copy of this letter onto them; we are always keen to hear from any ex-pupils to hear about their current activities.
It would help me in getting together a proper former-pupil data base, if you could provide me with as much of the following information as possible and return it to the school by post or e-mail –
• Name
• Address
• E-mail
• Years at St Aubyn`s
• House
• Sporting activities / achievements whilst at S.A.S.
• Education after St Aubyn`s
• Memories of St Aubyn`s
• What are you doing now?
I and all the current staff at the school look forward to hearing from you and any of your fellow pupils.
With best wishes
Malcolm Brown (ex Deputy Head)
FURTHER INFORMATION
REGARDING THE PROPOSED ASSOCIATION
Initially the idea is to collect relevant information (as listed in the letter) from former pupils, who have shown an interest in a St Aubyn’s School Former Pupil association. This will form the basis of a former pupil database. If we get enough interest we will contact you all and we will try to arrange some sort of social activity; hopefully before the end of 2008 or at the beginning of 2009, to coincide with the 125 year celebrations. If this goes well we may be able to appoint a committee of interested former pupils to help produce newsletters / contribute to the school magazine / visit the school / and help with social events and generally help run the association with members of the current staff.
However, as I have stated above, all this does depend on the level of former pupil response – so the wider this messages is spread the better. So please contact any of your peers to test their interest and then ask them either check the school website where there is a former pupil link and a letter to respond to or contact me at the school by post or e-mail (school @staubyns.com).
Many Thanks
Malcolm Brown (Former Deputy Head)
