On Wednesday 9th November, Year 1 visited The Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience what life was like when Guy Fawkes was alive. They had a chance to play with spinning tops and write with ink using feather pens.
They visited an old kitchen and were very interested to learn that carrots used to be purple! Kelda and Faiz enjoyed pretending to be servants in the kitchen and did an excellent job of sweeping the floor and turning the goose.
