The St. Aubyn’s School Society (SASS) has become an integral part of the School, supporting pupils, staff and parents alike. The aims of SASS are to:

  • Foster relationships among the staff, parents, pupils and others associated with the School.
  • Engage in activities which support the School and its pupils.
  • Enhance the development of the pupils at the School by providing and assisting in the provision of extra facilities.

Over the past years, SASS has funded equipment and resources including the School  Minibus, the tiered seating in the Performing Arts Centre, laptops and other equipment to the ICT centre, string instruments to the Music department and play equipment and a new wooden playhouse for the Nursery. Our latest spends have been on digital cameras for each class and a new outdoor play and learning area for Nursery and Pre Prep children.

SASS is only able to make these contributions because of the dedication and commitment of caring parents and staff. Parents on the SASS committee feel that they are genuine stake-holders in their child’s education and in the development of the School. The repeated generosity shown by parents through donations, buying raffle tickets, and by attending all of the SASS events is much appreciated.

The first fund raising event of the school year is the spectacular Fireworks Display. This is followed by the Christmas Bazaar and the Christmas Disco for children. In the Lent term the SASS quiz night enables parents to test themselves against staff and the Spring Ball is an exciting event for parents. The Summer term is very busy with our annual Camp Night at Gilwell Park and the Summer Fete.

Thank you to all those who support us throughout the year. Finally, a big thank you to the Committee and 'Friends of SASS', who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make these events work and without whom they would not be possible.

If you are a parent of a current St. Aubyn's pupil and you would like to get involved in helping at one or more SASS events, but feel that you cannot commit to being on the Committee, please email me (p.pinto@numis.com) and I will sign you up as a 'Friend of SASS'.
