St. Aubyn’s Sports Centre opened in the summer of 1997 and was built with the support of the English Sports Council Lottery fund. St. Aubyn’s School has an excellent reputation for sporting opportunities and achievements and it was determined that the community should also benefit from the new facility.
A Community Sports Programme for weekday evenings, weekends and the school holidays was developed from the very beginning.
Thirteen years later the Community Sports Programme continues to thrive.
During this time hundreds of local children have had the opportunity to participate in weekly sessions at St. Aubyn’s enjoying a range of sports activities thus learning the skills that will encourage them to continue to enjoy sport, develop as young people and stay healthy. Cricket, Badminton, Football and Netball all continue to be very popular here.
Children’s sports parties and weekly sessions for adults including football, netball and badminton ensure that families can enjoy the benefits of our Sports Centre on a daily basis.
