The annual Under 10 Five-a-Side Tournament was scheduled to be the first event of the year on the all-weather pitch. However, the severe weather meant changes to the format of the popular event. With eight teams attending the level of competition was very high in both groups A and B. To allow plenty of ‘match-time’ for each team there was a play-off stage after the group stages to determine the final tournament placings.

In the play-off for first and second place, Bancroft’s School, last year’s winners, and Chigwell School played out a very close game. After the seven minutes of normal time and the score level at 1-1, the match moved into a two-minute extra time period. During extra-time Chigwell continued to attack the Bancroft’s goal  and after two well taken goals ran out the winners in a thrilling 3-1 final.
